Prayer and the Sovereignty of God

Why pray if God does whatever he wants (Ps. 115:3)?

Here are just a few reasons:

1) Because prayer is a cooperation with God to do His will (James 5:16)
2) Because some things don't happen unless you pray (Mk. 9:29)
3) Because through prayer you honor God (Mt. 6:9)
4) Because through prayer your desires turn toward His kingdom (Mat. 6:10, 25-34)
5) Because through prayer God provides what we need (Mt. 6:11)
6) Because through prayer you learn to forgive your enemies (Mt. 6:12)
7) Because through prayer you will escape temptation from evil (Mt. 6:13)
8) Because God wants us to depend upon Him in our weakness (2 Co. 12:7-10)
9) Because God through prayer God wants to give peace (Phil. 4:6-7)
10) Because God really does hear and He really does answer (Lk. 18:1-8)

Because God doesn't care if you "figure out how it works" as much as He wants to bless you through prayer (Mt. 7:7)!!!
