Questions for THIS SUNDAY

For the next few Sundays we're going to be trying to answer one another's questions from the Scriptures. Most of the questions will fall into the categories of the Discipleship 201 stuff we've just been through, though some might not. On this blog you can begin to get some help in doing that by posting questions, getting feedback from the rest of the group, and using the Bible study links provided here. On Sunday night, it'll basically be you teaching what you've learned, and the rest of the group responding to you in discussion, questions, friendly challenges and possibly nervous breakdowns at the conviction you unleash. Hopefully by doing this we'll build some skills in studying and reasoning through the Bible on our own! Here's the questions for this week (Please let me know if you're not going to be there!):

Kurtis: If we don't take ancient myths about monsters and gods literally, why should we take the Bible literally, especially if it sounds a lot like stuff being written at the same time? How can you claim the Bible is inspired while these other books, or any other religious books, aren't inspired?

Anthony B: How can you claim that the Bible doesn't have any errors when there are clearly grammatical errors in the book of Revelation, problems with numbers in the book of Samuel, and inconsistent descriptions of the same historical events (cf. passing through the Red Sea in Ex. 14 and Ex. 15)?

Rachel: Spirit-filled Christians come up with a bunch of different interpretations of just about everything - how can anyone even understand the Bible?
